Sidney says, “Three years ago I found myself working as a waitress at a local Pub & Grill. As I was picking up a customer's order, he asked me what my plans were after graduating from Central College of Communication. I explained to him that I would remain a paraprofessional at our public school, fearing student debt and not being interested in continuing my education. He said, “I am T.E.A.C.H. I would be a great candidate.” After my shift, I ran home, did some research, and immediately started filling out an application! I never looked forward to checking my mail, but I checked it every day for the next three 3 weeks, let's just say I got my acceptance letter and that was the day that changed my life forever. TEACHING. the scholarship allowed me to pursue my passion for education. I would not have made it through the University of Nebraska at Kearney scene without this scholarship. The program helped me with 80% of my tuition and books and allowed me to study hours around my schedule and always had an open door to lend a helping hand. I can't thank this program enough and because of them I will be teaching at Central Valley for the next two years!❤️”
