Located just a short drive from the glitz, glamor and excitement of the Las Vegas Strip, Desert Eagle RV Park is located on Nellis Air Force Base. 4907 Farm Camp Dr, Las Vegas, NV 89115.

Driving Tour Of Desert Eagle Rv Park At Nellis Afb, Nv

This campground is on an Air Force base and you must be a DOD card holder to access the base and Desert Eagle RV Park.

The campground is located on the hospital side of Nellis AFB separated by Las Vegas Blvd. On the flight line side of the base you will find the commissary, AAFES exchange, base gym, several fast food restaurants, and the AAFES gas station.

Tent sites start at $8/night. Partial hook-up sites are $20/night and full hook-up sites are $22-$26/night. Short term storage (up to 90 days) $2/night.

Desert Eagle RV Park was the first campground we stayed at when we hit the road on our full-time adventure. We stayed from March 30 to May 5, 2019.

Desert Eagle Rv Park

From Las Vegas we used this park as our shakedown stop to get used to our new motorhome and work out the bugs. We camped for 35 nights at one of the new full hookup sites. These sites are level concrete pads with 20/30/50 amp service, a sewer connection, a patio and a picnic table.

No fire or open fire are allowed, but you can use gas barbecues if you prefer. Looking for a little more space or privacy? You can try one of the wagon wheel, full hookup back-in or full hookup pull through sites.

The whole park is very beautiful and well maintained. We didn't feel cramped at all in the place we had. Where else can you get a daily free air show? If youare lucky, you might even get a few flyovers from Thunderbirds. That is the sound of freedom! Enjoy!

Desert Eagle RV Park has most of the amenities you would want from a campground. The staff is very friendly and helpful with any questions you may have.

Washrooms are located in the toilet/shower buildings and office. The cost of washing is $0.75 and the cost of drying is $0.75. The washers and dryers worked well during our visit. We mostly used the washing machines and dryers in the office. They even have a special washing machine that can be used for dog breeds.

The park had a good sized fenced dog park. Our dogs love to run and play. With plenty of space for them to sniff and stretch their legs, this is a great place to spend some quality time with your dogs. We had enough dogs to keep us company during our visit. We had a problem with an unfriendly dog attacking our Ruby.

A small lounge area with TV and internet computers is available for office/lodge use. They have coffee and snacks in the office. Get one free bag of ice cream per day from them.

Desert Eagle RV Park doesn't have a pool or spa, but the base gym is both a nice amenity if you're looking to dip in the pool or soak in the spa.

When we were there in March/April 2019, they received mail and packages for guests at the office. We returned in December 2019 and since then they have closed the office to accept packages. You can have UPS or FedEx packages delivered directly to your campsite if your site number is properly addressed. Amazon and US post did not accept and sent them back.

The park has a nice playground for the kids and a basketball hoop that we used a lot while we were there. If you need a place to exercise, Basic Gym has everything you're looking for.

Our favorite restaurant that we recommend to visitors is Batista's Hole in the Wall, an Italian restaurant with an old Vegas feel. The food is really good! Do not drink the cappuccino at the end of the meal.

Let Gordy the accordion player be cute. It's really great! Last time we were with Batista, we found out that Gordy had retired.

Nellis Air Force Base

Some of our favorite shows are Le Reve at Wynn and Absinthe at Caesars Palace. These are two of the best shows in town in our opinion. Any of these or any other Cirque du Soleil type show is a great choice.

The Vegas Strip has huge mega resort casinos and all the glitz and glamor you would expect from Las Vegas.

But if you want to escape the big resorts, try Fremont Street. While the casinos are small and some offer a little more, be warned that Fremont Street is where "the Crazies" hang out. Not a great place for kids. But the Viva Vision light show is a must see.

Like the neon museum just up the road. If you go to the Neon Museum, be sure to go at night and see their show Brilliant. They really bring old non-working neon signs to life. It's one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

La Mesa Verde Rv Park

Back on the Strip is T-Mobile Arena, the busiest arena in the country, and Vegas Golden Knights hockey is an absolute blast to watch their spectacle. When the Knights are not playing, there is usually a concert or event going on.

If youare looking for something outdoors, Lake Mead, Valley of Fire State Park, Red Rock Canyon National Recreation Area and Mount Charleston are just a short drive away. All of these places are great for walking, sightseeing, or escaping the hustle and bustle of the Vegas Strip. Ready to go a little further? Zion National Park is about an hour or so drive from the base.

If you have access to DOD facilities, you can't go wrong with Desert Eagle RV Park. The campsite is very economical, beautiful, clean and well maintained. The staff is friendly and helpful and ready to go the extra mile to ensure that you have a pleasant stay. Where else can you get free daily air shows?

Our RV Dreams began in 2015. When Lisa and I take what we call our annual "long vacation," we talk about what a traveling life is like. Visit national parks, relax on the beach, or enjoy the mountains.

As tent campers in our 40s, it's hard to get up in the morning and move after sleeping on the ground. When traveling around the country we stop at RV dealers and look at different options. Decisions, decisions....so many RV's so many options, and floor plans to choose from.

Our RV dreams are constantly changing over time. We've gone from a dream travel trailer, to a fifth wheel, to a class A motorhome, to a class C camper and back, and now to a class A camper. Our RV dreams have changed for many reasons.

When we started talking about a travel trailer, we wanted to get out of tent camping. At that point we knew we needed a small trailer to tow with our Jeep Wrangler or buy a pickup if we decided on a bigger one. It is set
