dts travel documents assessment

Dts Travel Documents Assessment - Back in the days when you went to TDY, the front desk or cleaning room would help you fill out an order form that was wet and signed by whoever needed to sign it. At some point, the Department of Defense switched to a universal system called the Defense Travel System. Instead of receiving paper orders and walking around the squadron to sign, you have to log in and make orders online.

Instead of pulling out a typewriter and manually entering all of your order information on a form, you log in and create orders using DTS tools to specify your itinerary, travel and accommodation costs, and funding source. There are pluses and minuses to this system. The main advantage is that you get paid much faster after your trip is over.

I don't feel like doing a full tutorial right now, but everyone seems to be having trouble printing orders from DD Form 1610. By default, printed orders look like this:

City And County Of Honolulu

This format contains all the information you need and is actually a printout of your orders. As long as you have "AUTH NO" on line 2), your orders will be approved. However, it is not the traditional format that people are used to. To print your orders in traditional format, follow these steps.

Change your authorizations, cash advance and voucher to "government form +". Click the "Save Default Form" button at the bottom.

If your settings were saved correctly, you should now see a DD 1610 form filled with travel information.

You must go now! Make sure all the information in the form is correct. See FM Environmental Considerations and GTA Environmental Risk Assessment. Getting Started: DTS is software designed to meet the unique travel needs of Department of Defense (DoD) personnel. DTS is a paperless concept that revolutionizes temporary duty (TDY) travel processes by replacing manual steps as a step forward. The Department of Defense has approved DTS as the only tool for TDY travel planning and management.

You must use the Commercial Travel Office (CTO) to book commercial accommodation and transport. The travel module allows you to book transport and accommodation that best suits your needs. Authorizations must be signed within 24 hours of booking with DTS. Otherwise, bookings will be automatically cancelled. The traveler must: Comply with all rules and procedures described in the Joint Federal Travel Regulations (JFTR) / Joint Travel Regulations (JTR). If possible, all arrangements for transportation and accommodation should be made through the Commercial Travel Office (CTO). Provide original receipts (or a signed statement of missing receipts) for all lodging expenses and all individual reimbursable expenses of $75 or more. Provide the AO with a justification for policy deviations, expenditures above Department of Defense thresholds, and any material differences between the approved pre-trip "should cost" estimate and the actual voucher claim. Follow all ethical rules. To display the correct per diem rates, DTS requires start and end points and all TDY locations and stopovers for the trip. Explain to students that they must use a commercial travel agency (CTO) to book commercial transportation and accommodation. The Travel module simplifies communication with the CTO. The travel module allows them to make bookings for transport and accommodation that best suit their travel needs. DTS also provides pop-up advisory notifications if choices you make violate the rules (for example, choosing a rental car that is not the cheapest option). DTS automatically accesses the trip module when the traveler selects Save and Continue on the trip overview screen. While DTS processes the submitted information, DTS accesses the Trip Module component that corresponds to the selection in Section B of the Trip Overview screen. If Request Full CTO Assistance is selected, a screen will be displayed that allows you to enter comments to the CTO regarding your booking needs. Once you have finished using the Travel module, you must sign the authorization within 24 hours, otherwise your bookings will be automatically cancelled. 3 DTS >> 03: Authorization
